Today it is 40 days until the 2016 Laurence Olivier Awards, which are also celebrating their 40th anniversary this year.

To celebrate the Olivier Awards, here are 10 interesting facts about the Awards and the show’s previous success.

1. In 2013, The Curious Incident won seven Olivier Awards. These were: MasterCard Best New Play, Best Actor, Best Actress in a Supporting Role, Best Director, Best lighting Design, Best Set Design and Best Sound Design.

2. The Olivier Awards have been running for 40 years this year.

3. In total, there have been 837 Olivier’s awarded over the years.

4. Each Olivier Award statue weighs 1.6kg, all of The Curious Incident’s Olivier awards together weigh 11.2kg

5. The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time has the title for the most awards won at one Olivier’s Ceremony for a play. The only other show that has won the same amount is Matilda the Musical.

6. This year’s awards will be hosted at the Royal Opera House which has 2256 seats.

7. The Red Carpet at the Olivier Awards is 120 metres long.
