Further Information

  • Production Information

This production contains strobe lighting, smoke effects, high intensity video & light effects, and loud sound effects.

Recommended for 11+. There is some strong language in this production, as there is in the novel. This occurs at the very beginning of the show and infrequently at other points during the show. We can provide a copy of the full script should you wish to have more information.

The production contains references to and/or staging of: violent behaviour including domestic violence, self-injury, meltdowns and distress caused by sensory overload. It also depicts some negative attitudes towards autistic people.
We suggest bringing ear defenders with you if you are sensitive to loud noises. We will have some ear defenders at the venue for you to borrow if you need them.
There is an appendix to the production after the final audience applause. This contains loud sound effects, bright lighting and directly addresses the audience. The doors will remain open at all times during this sequence and you may leave at any time.
A visual story will be available to download from this website soon.

This production takes place at the Wembley Park Theatre – not at the National Theatre. For more information please see below.

For your comfort and security, you may be subject to additional checks on your visit to London theatres – we appreciate your patience and understanding while these are taking place.

Unfortunately, we are unable to accept large items of luggage in our cloakrooms at this time.
