NT Learning gives everyone the chance to discover new skills and to experience the excitement of theatre-making, through inspiring projects at the National Theatre, in schools and with people of all ages across the UK and at touring venues. Through online resources we open up theatre-making at the National to students across the world.

For state schools seeing The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, the following workshops are available at the National Theatre on request.

Exploring Curious Incident
Explore the play’s themes and find out how the production was made. This workshop puts students in the role of company member, combining script work and devised work to bring to life Christopher’s unique perspective on the world. Suitable for English or Drama students.

Price: £180 (max 20 students)
Dates and Times: January – April 2019 on Thursdays, 10am – 12pm and other weekdays 3pm – 5pm

Frantic Assembly: Curious Incident Movement
Experience the physicality of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time with Frantic Assembly, the Movement Directors’ of the show. This workshop will recreate key moments from the production and will:
• Offer students an insight into how a professional company creates physical material
• Uses production specific exercises from Curious Incident, exploring the devising processes used by Frantic Assembly to produce multi-disciplined performances
• Promote the physical confidence students need to be brave and bold in devising
• Enable students to transfer techniques into their own productions

Suitable for Year 9 upwards

Price: £250 + VAT (max 20 students)
